Nurses day with pit stop cafe

NTERNATIONAL Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 12 all around the globe to honour the services of nurses. This year, nurses from Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur will collaborate with Pit Stop Community Cafe to hand out 120 packets of nasi lemak to the homeless, as part of their Nasi Lemak programme. The programme aims to encourage Gleneagles staff to give back to the community and be more engaged with the society. “We want this to be an ongoing project, so we came up with the Nasi Lemak programme in 2015. Under the programme, every purchase of nasi lemak from the cafeteria by our staff, will be matched with a pack of nasi lemak that will be donated to the less fortunate,” said Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur senior manager Samiha Abd Aziz.
The nasi lemak is prepared daily by the hospital’s own chef and is sold at RM5. Samiha said Gleneagles staff would usually buy nasi lemak as they know that every purchase they make would contribute to another person’s plate. “We want to encourage our staff t…

I could never walk away

I love being a nurse. But some days there are so many reasons why I could walk away without looking back. Here are 12 reasons why I sometimes want to walk away from nursing. 1. Management scares me (sometimes). I know they don’t mean to scare me. But management can be a scary beast, epitomizing “big-brother.” Sometimes we’re left wondering what they’re thinking. Are we doing a good job? Are they looking for a reason to fire us? There’s a 50/50 chance… at least in my mind! 2. I can’t remember what it’s like to have a normal life. We work long hours. Our schedules are usually not set, they are constantly changing. We’re frequently on-call. We are usually required to work alternating weekends. I can’t remember what it’s like to be off every weekend, or to not wonder if I’ll be needed at work, or asked to come in. I don’t want to have to plan out my schedule months in advance. It would be nice being home when my kids get off the bus. 3. My body hurts.everything.hurts. My knees don’t feel th…

Sep.27 Urgent Hospitalization in Kuala Lumpur2018-09-27 13:54:44 テーマ: In the next morning upon the arrival in Kuala Lumpur, I had suffered from stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea in a local hotel.
私が朝、ホテルで腹痛、嘔吐、下痢になってしまいました。
在我到达吉隆坡宾馆的早上,我出现了腹痛呕吐腹泻等症状。
Then I called for an ambulance from Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur located nearby my hotel. The ambulance arrived within 10 minutes.
ホテルから近くのグレンイーグルス病院に十救急車を要請し、10分で到着しました。
我拨打了宾馆附近的鹰阁医院的急救车电话,急救车便在10分钟后到达了宾馆。
Though ambulance service is not free there, it is worry-free that the credit card company would offer full coverage for the service.

Fifteen of them took time off from their Sunday evening instead to serve some 100 homeless people at the KL Pit Stop Community Cafe, here at the city centre, today. Happy nurses day 2016

Nurses week is a great week to reflect on the value nurses bring to the delivery of care and also a time to forecast into the future. What can each of us do to advance the profession of nursing to a higher level? What can each of us do to achieve greater success? Sometimes we all just need a little inspiration to figure it out. Quotes are a great place to begin. #50 is my favorite  We will start with Florence and end with a few of mine.

1.“It may seem a strange principle to enunciate as the very first requirement in a Hospital that it should do the sick no harm.” ~Florence Nightingale 2.“Let us never consider ourselves finished nurses….we must be learning all of our lives.” ~Florence Nightingale 3.“I attribute my success to this – I never gave or took any excuse.” ~Florence Nightingale 4.“How very little can be done under the spirit of fear.” ~Florence Nightingale 5.
